American Legion baseball schedule-makers have to work with 58 teams this summer. Which may explain the wild and wacky schedule the Pahrump Valley Post 22 team has to contend with this summer.

The Trojans played three games in early June, but they will have had 12 days off before they return to Silver Division action Sunday.

The Trojans, 2-1, will battle Cheyenne at 5 p.m. and Legacy at 8 on the Vo-Tech High School field at 5708 Mountain Vista St., off E. Russell.

Cheyenne is 2-8 in the 22-team Silver Division, while Legacy is 4-4.

Pahrump Valley will be back at Honeysuckle Park Wednesday against Henderson Liberty, 7-2, at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m.

In succeeding games, the Trojans play an almost pro-like schedule. They:

Travel to Faith Lutheran Thursday to take on Palo Verde (4-2) at 5 p.m. and Faith Lutheran (8-1) at 8 p.m.;

Are at home July 6 against Sierra Vista (8-3) for a twin bill, beginning at 5 p.m.;

Go to Rivera Park July 7 to face Western (1-5) and Rancho (8-1), starting at 5 p.m.;

Travel to Centennial July 9 to play Shadow Ridge (5-4) and Centennial (2-6), beginning at 5 p.m.;

Go to Vo-Tech July 10 to take on Chaparral (5-5) and Vo-Tech (3-7), starting at 5 p.m.;

Play at home July 11 against Del Sol (6-3) at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m.;

Go to Eldorado July 12 to play Desert Pines (0-9) at 5 p.m. and Eldorado (4-7) at 8 p.m.;

Are at home July 18 against Arbor View (4-5) for a twin bill, starting at 5 p.m.;

Go to Peccole Park July 24 to battle Durango (0-7) at 5 p.m. and Bishop Gorman (2-5) at 8 p.m. to close the regular season.

Rancho (9-1), Faith Lutheran (8-1), 2007 Nevada Class A champion Calvary Chapel (10-3), Foothill (9-3), Sierra Vista (8-3) and Liberty (7-2) lead the Silver Division. All records are for games played through Wednesday.

In the 14-team American Legion Gold Division, state Class 4-A champion Bishop Gorman is 8-6. Sierra Vista is 11-1, with Silverado at 6-1. In the 22-team Junior Division, Coronado is 7-0, with Faith Lutheran 2-5.
