At the end of the rope in Iraq
WASHINGTON -- Last month in Iraq, Sen. Gordon Smith, the Oregon Republican, had lunch with three soldiers from his state, one of whom had been working with an Iraqi officer training police cadets. That soldier told Smith that when the cadets learned that the Iraqi officer was a Catholic, they stoned him. To death.

Past sins make for 12-15 million illegals
The whole immigration reform/amnesty/path to citizenship/border security debate has gotten really messy . Charges are flying back and forth and the genetic heritage of proponents and opponents alike are being questioned by people who often consider one another friends or allies.


New phone rules ease summertime 'hecktivity'
Along with Hubby and the boys, I looked forward to the end of the school year with enthusiasm. A brief reprieve from dragging the kids out of bed every morning would be wonderful. For a couple of months, I would not have to make breakfast while putting together bag lunches -- or writing checks for the cafeteria, depending on the current "hectivity-level" in our home. (Hectic plus activity equals my new word -- hectivity!)
