Southern Nevada District 4 Little League baseball tournaments will begin June 27, with 9-and 10-year-old teams to play at Cheyenne Park in Las Vegas.

Pahrump will enter that tournament, as well as the 10-11 playoffs at Lone Mountain, starting July 6.

The Major Division playoffs are slated for Summerlin South Park, beginning July 6. The Major Division (11-12s) will be out to advance to other tournaments on the road to the Williamsport, Pa., World Series in August.

The Junior (13-14s) start July 6 at Lone Mountain, which will also be the host site for the Senior (15-16s) playoffs July 12.

District 4 officials expect at least eight teams in the 9-10 tournament; seven in the 10-11; nine in the Major; five or six in the Juniors, and two or three in the Senior Division. Pahrump will have entries in every tournament.

The Pahrump Valley Post 22 American Legion baseball team, 2-1 in the Silver Division, is idle until Sunday, when it plays at Vo-Tech High in Las Vegas. The Trojans will play Cheyenne, 2-8, at 5 p.m. and Legacy, 4-4, at 8 p.m.
