LAS VEGAS -- A Nevada prosecutor was awaiting a report from police on Wednesday before deciding whether to press felony and misdemeanor charges against Tennessee Titans cornerback Adam "Pacman'' Jones in a February strip club melee.

An aide said Clark County District Attorney David Roger expected prosecutors would get a briefing from Las Vegas police late in the day and Roger would not comment until he reviewed progress in the investigation.

Las Vegas police Lt. George Castro said investigators had not been able to prove a link between the Feb. 19 scuffle inside the club, Minxx, and a shooting moments later outside that left a club employee paralyzed and two other people wounded.

Castro did not immediately respond to messages left Wednesday seeking comment.

Roger declined in April to prosecute, asking police to investigate further, identify a shooter, and determine if the scuffle inside was linked with the shooting outside.

Police said March 26 they recommended felony coercion and misdemeanor threat and battery charges against Jones, 23, whom Castro called "an inciter'' of the altercation inside the club, several blocks west of the Las Vegas Strip.

The club owner has said Jones threatened to kill a bouncer who intervened when the former West Virginia standout attacked a dancer who grabbed money thrown on the stage.

Police said they also wanted to charge Robert Reid of Carson, Calif., with felony coercion and misdemeanor battery, and Sadia Morrison of New York, with felony coercion. Morrison already faces a felony battery with a deadly weapon charge in the case.

Jones has had 10 encounters with police and five arrests since he was drafted by the NFL's Titans in 2005. On Tuesday, he dropped an appeal of a yearlong misconduct suspension imposed by league commissioner Roger Goodell.
