Anniversary
![]() Ed and Eva Baumeister Forty-eight year Nevada residents Ed and Eva Baumeister celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary June 2 with the "biggest potluck in history" in their Pahrump neighborhood. The affair was sponsored by their two surviving sons and spouses, John and Rosie of Las Vegas and Eldon and Mary Jo of Texas. Ed and Eva had a sweetheart romance, meeting in Lemon, S.D., and marrying in 1957 in Bison. They moved to Nevada in 1959 and bought a home on Tonopah Street in Las Vegas. They influenced many lives in Nevada and continue to do so. They lived among hard-working families in neighborhoods where they cared for children and adults alike in what was and still is an American ideal. Because of these close bonds, three generations of friends and neighbors were present at the affair. This is a tribute to their undying love, devotion and faith. The celebration was attended by neighbors and friends from Tonopah Street, the Andersons, Asbills, Bridwells, Cacklers, McCalls, and the Smiths, and from close by, the Dahlins, Greens, Henleys, Millettes, Wigmans, and the Rodrigueses. Not to mention their Pahrump neighbors, the Hornsteins and the Priests. Lydia Henley made a memory album of photos on site in one of the many RVs at the event. |
