PHOTO HIGH WIND DAMAGE
MARK WAITE / PVT There will be more fireworks advertised on this billboard at the south end of Pahrump on Highway 160, after the original advertising blew off during the high winds this week. The Desert Research Institute monitoring station in Pahrump recorded a peak wind gust of 41.4 miles per hour Tuesday night. The strong winds, however, brought in cooler temperatures, with highs only in the mid-80s. |
