The federal case against Crystal brothel owner Maynard "Joe" Richards has been postponed again.

The latest trial date of Aug. 8 has now been postponed until Nov. 20 by Judge Robert Jones, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported, citing conflicts with attorneys schedules. Leo Flangas, one of Richards' attorneys, will be out of town in August and September. Co-counsel Tom Pitaro has two jury trials already scheduled in October.

Richards is accused of paying $5,000 to former Nye County Commissioner Candice Trummell under the guise of money for a scholarship to Boyd Law School. Trummell was working for the federal government and secretly recorded the conversation.

The federal case claims Richards was seeking assistance in changing a Nye County ordinance that prevented him from building a brothel on property he owns in Pahrump.

Richards was indicted in March 2006. The case was originally set for trial May 23, 2006 but was postponed to allow attorneys to review the massive amount of evidence.

The case was postponed from a Dec. 6, 2006 date so Richards' new attorney, Pitaro, could prepare a defense. It was rescheduled in April, 2007 but was postponed again after a defense attorney had eye problems.
