Highway 160 funding gets $16M payoff
When the 74th session of the Nevada Legislature adjourned this week, State Sen. Mike McGinness, R-Fallon and Assemblyman Ed Goedhart R-Amargosa Valley, agreed the major accomplishment affecting local residents was more money in the transportation budget to improve Highway 160 between Pahrump and Las Vegas.

Courtney Lewis, who helped run a basketball skills contest at J.G. Johnson Elementary School last weekend, is one of the organizers for the Nye County Sports Association.

New sports program geared for youngsters
Courtney and Dawn Lewis, Pahrump residents, perceived a lack of athletic activities for younger children in the area. This resulted in the creation of The Nye County Sports Association (NCSA).
