BEATTY--Steven Koehler, 25, was arrested last Tuesday when Dep. Pineau pulled him over for what began as a traffic stop.

Koehler was driving northbound on Highway 95 near mile marker 60 when Pineau executed a traffic stop after noticing the GMC pick-up truck had no license plate light.

When the deputy got to the vehicle, he noticed the smell of marijuana coming from the car.

When the deputy asked Koehler if he had any marijuana inside the vehicle, the driver reportedly said yes.

A search of the vehicle yielded 20 grams of marijuana and a pipe.

Koehler was arrested and booked on the misdemeanor charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

His bail was set at $1,364.
