Robert Smith's lawsuit against the Nye County Sheriff's Office (NCSO) is going nationwide, according to a press release from his attorney, Blake Horowitz.

Smith alleges that officers used excessive force and "tased" him five times when responding to a 911 call he made after his wife, Jeanette Smith, collapsed on Feb. 14 of last year.

Nye County Sheriff Tony DeMeo maintains that Smith had repeatedly threatened violence against his deputies prior to the incident occurring.
