Fall sports approach at PVHS

PVT

The 2007 Pahrump Valley High School fall sports schedules appear on page B2.

Note:

The Trojans will play only three home games in football, including the school's Hall of Fame contest Oct. 5 against Southern Nevada Class 3-A League foe Mesquite Virgin Valley.

There is no Gold Cup Shootout in soccer for the first time in several years. The Lady Trojans do have a coach, however. He's Greg Leseberg, who will take over for Steve Coleman. Leseberg was an assistant to C.J. Johnson, the boys' coach in 2004-2005 and 2005-2006.

Pahrump Valley's volleyball team will not play in the prestigious Las Vegas Invitational in late August. Instead, the PV girls -- who host their own tournament Aug. 31-Sept. 1 -- will travel to Apple Valley, Calif., for the Granite Hills Invitational Oct. 19-20;

Pahrump Valley's cross country team will not have a home meet, after hosting a highly-successful event at the Executive course last fall.

Lake Mead Christian Academy, Ely White Pine and Las Vegas The Meadows will compete in the boys' Class 3-A soccer league this fall. There will be no girls' teams from Lake Mead and The Meadows.

As of the moment, there are no major road trips for the defending state champion PV girls' golf team, which does open at Mountain Falls with a league match Aug. 23.
