Three juveniles have been arrested for allegedly setting fire to an abandoned building at 2090 W. Bell Vista Ave. July 12.

Although the fire department was able to extinguish the flames without any more property being lost, firefighters were told by sheriff's deputies that the fire appeared to be the result of arson.

Further investigation revealed that the flames had been concentrated around a bottle of gasoline inside the building.

A witness said that he had seen a vehicle in front of the building prior to the blaze and that before being seen in front of the building, the occupants in the car had been buying items from the Horizon Market convenience store.

One of the suspects was later identified using surveillance video from the store.

While investigating the fire, the fire department was dispatched to another fire north of the first one, in the Gally and Woodchips roads area.

Investigating authorities made contact with the identified suspect's father, who identified the suspect's friends.

The three juveniles were later located and admitted to setting the fires.

All three were arrested and transferred into custody of the Juvenile Probation department.

They will be facing charges including two counts of first-degree arson, two counts of conspiracy, burglary, and throwing a burning material from a building.
