The annual Gene Goins Memorial Tournament, the feature Pahrump Valley Junior Golf Association event of the year, begins a two-day run Monmday at the Lakeview Executive course.

Tee time both days is at 3 p.m. on the par 60, 3,600-yard course.

Competition will be in age groups. Players 7-8 and 9-11 will play two nine-hole rounds, while boys and girls 12-14 and 15-18 will play two 18-hole rounds.

The tournament ends the spring-summer campaign for the PVJGA golfers, who have played weekly since school vacation began.

The last weekly event was Monday at the Executive course.

In 7-8 girls, Courtney Jersic shot 59 as the only participant in that age group.

In 12-14 girls, Emilyne Biggs had 41-45--86, with Shyanne Dixon at 48-49--97, Ashley Morales 51, and Ashley Myers 55.

In 15-18 girls, Ashley Keller had 38-34--72, Jasper Biggs 38-41--79, and Meghan Morales 43-42--85.

In 15-18 boys, William Peers had 31-34--65, Isaac Shook 48-50--98, and Daniel Spradlin 52-51--103.
