Pahrump's Senior Division Little League baseball team has advanced to the finals of the Southern Nevada District 4 tournament.

The 15- and 16-year-olds, coached by Brandon Bietar, will play either Red Rock or Summerlin at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Childrens' Memorial Park at Lone Mountain. The District 4 winner will advance to the state playoffs, which are tentatively slated to begin next week in the greater Reno area.

Pahrump got to the finals in the double-elimination tournament by crushing Summerlin 15-1 Friday and outslugging Red Rock 15-7 Saturday.

Against Summerlin, righthander Corey Veloz pitched a complete-game victory. Pacing the offense were Mike Gonzalez, Cody Nielsen, and Ronnie Torres.

Danny Cazier, Nielsen and Jarret Holley kept Red Rock in control enough to allow Pahrump's offense to generate several rallies that produced, for the second straight game, 15 runs.

Veloz, Ethan Wald, Nielsen and Dominic Swiden got the key hits for Pahrump.
