With three games left in the American Legion Silver Division baseball season remaining, the Pahrump Valley Trojans will be out to secure a better-than-.500 finish.

Post 22, 9-7 and riding a four-game winning streak in the division, is at Honeysuckle Park today at 5 p.m., taking on Las Vegas Arbor View, 6-10, in a doubleheader. On July 24, the Trojans will be at Peccole Park in Las Vegas to play Durango, 1-14, at 5 p.m. and Bishop Gorman, 5-12, at 8 p.m. to complete regularly-scheduled games.

The Trojans have two suspended games to complete; one, against Centennial, counts in the division standings. The other is the second game of a twin bill against Vo-Tech.

When and where those games are to be played will be announced.

Pahrump Valley overpowered Desert Pines 18-1 and homestanding Eldorado 11-5 Thursday, which means the Trojans have outscored opponents 45-15 in their last three division starts.

It's doubtful Pahrump Valley -- one of just two Class 3-A teams in the Silver Division -- will qualify for the playoffs. The top four go, and they are 3-A Faith Lutheran, 13-1, along with Rancho, 14-2, Calvary Chapel, 14-3, and Sierra Vista, 12-4. Liberty is 11-4 and Shadow Ridge is 13-5, with Foothill at 12-5.

The division playoffs are July 31-Aug. 3 at Durango High School. The winner qualifies for the Mid-States tournament Aug. 15-19 at Beulah, N.D.

Sierra Vista leads the Gold Division at 15-1, with Silverado, 10-5, Spring Valley, 15-7, Coronado, 13-7, and Green Valley, 9-6, in playoff contention.

The Nevada state tournament will be played Aug. 4-11 at Wilson Stadium on the UNLV campus. The Western regionals are Aug. 16-20 at Kearns, Utah, and the American Legion World Series is Aug. 24-28 at Bartlesville, Okla.

In the Junior Division, the top four teams are Coronado, 16-0; Silverado, 14-4; Sierra Vista, 14-4, and Rancho, 12-4. At 12-6 are Basic and Palo Verde, with Spring Valley at 11-6 and Foothill 13-8. Faith Lutheran's Junior squad is 4-12.
