Charity Perry grew up around all the dogs that her father, a military dog trainer, brought home. They also had many of their own. She worked for years in Las Vegas, and then two and a half years ago, she decided to move to Pahrump, but soon got tired of the drive. So she opened her own grooming shop at 2200 E. Calvada Blvd., Suite G, Pahrump. D-for Dog has no particular specialty animal and works with both large and small dogs.

Auxiliary unit adds officers to ranks
The Nye County Sheriff's Auxiliary Unit, the all-volunteer attachment of officers for the sheriff's office, welcomed 11 officers to its rank numbers last Monday afternoon.
