Fall sign-ups slated at PVHS

Forms are available at Pahrump Valley High School for student-athletes planning to compete in the 2007-2008 season for the Southern Nevada Class 3-A League Trojans.

All Pahrump Valley High School student-athletes must have a physical examination every year. So, the following information, provided by the PVHS athletics department, is key to any prospective Trojan athlete intending to compete in fall 2007.

To participate in high school athletics, boys and girls must have:

Appropriate physical examination/registration on file in the PVHS athletics department; physical examinations must be done by licensed physicians, not chiropractors;

Health insurance coverage; a student may purchase coverage through the school if he or she is not already insured.

Important dates to remember are:

Now, physical and registration forms are available in the PVHS main office; summer hours will be 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Aug. 1, early registration will be held from noon to 8 p.m. in the PVHS athletics office; enter through the main front doors. Student-athletes should bring their completed physical examination and registration forms.

Aug. 8, final registration will be held from noon to 6 p.m. Again, completed forms should be presented.

Aug. 9, first day of football practice.

Aug. 13, first day of practice for boys and girls soccer, boys and girls cross country, volleyball, and girls golf.

Sr. Olympics in September

The 2007 Nevada Senior Olympics will be held Sept. 22 through Oct. 21 in Las Vegas.
