Caregiver training

Nathan Adelson Hospice will provide a two-day workshop teaching individuals to be caregivers in a home/hospice or health care/nursing home environment, starting at 8:30 a.m. July 16 and 17 in the conference room at the hospice, 1480 E. Calvada Blvd., Suite 900.

Space is limited for this no-cost 16 hour training. Reservations must be made no later than July 12.

To make reservations or for more information, call Tonya Brum at 751-5601.

Babies in need

Stitches From the Heart needs volunteers to knit, crochet or quilt blankets, little sweaters and hats for babies in need.

These items are donated to hospitals all over the country. Donated yarn is desperately needed for seniors and children's knitting programs.

Contact Kathy Silverton at 1-866-472-6903 or email StitchFromHeart@aol.com to volunteer or for more information.

High school registration

Registration for enrollment for Pahrump Valley High School students will begin Aug. 1.

The counseling office will be open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. For those in need of a later registration time, the office will also be open until 8 p.m. Aug. 2 and Aug. 9. Call the counseling office at 727-2280 for more information.
