The fifth annual Farmers Cup Adult-Junior Golf series begins Feb. 11 at Mountain Falls.

The series is sponsored by the Worden Agency of the Farmers Insurance Group. The series is a Pahrump Valley Junior Golf Association-sanctioned event, and includes tournaments March 4, April 1 and May 6.

Two person teams -- one adult and one player 6 to 18 -- compete in the medal-play tournament.

There is a $15 series entry fee for the junior player, with proceeds benefiting the junior golf association.

A $20 green fee per tournament is assessed the adult player in a nine-hole event; it is $30 for the adult player in an 18-hole tournament.

The age divisions are 6-8, 9-11, 12-14 and 15-158 for the boys and girls who compete in each tournament.

The format is a "shamble": Both players on the team hit their drives and take the best drive, each player then plays their own ball until it is holed out.The team will take the lower of the two scores and record it on the scorecard. Junior score used on at least three of nine or six of 18 holes.

First-place medals are awarded for each division in each tournament.

First-, second- and third-place trophies and prizes are awarded for each division for the series.

There are giveaways and hole-in-one prizes.

Deadlines for pre-registration is the Wednesday prior to tournaments -- Feb. 7, Feb 28, March 28, May 2 -- by 5 p.m.

Tee times will be set by Mountain Falls Golf Course by the Friday before each tournament. All tee times will begin after noon. On Feb 11, it will be after 11 a.m.
