Cardwell bowls perfect game

Mike Cardwell, bowling in the Merchant Men League at the Nugget, had a 300 game and 769 series.

Cardwell bowls for Team 10 and is averaging 200 in 27 games, according to the latest league statistics.

His other games were 253 and 216.

Nugget to host tournaments

The Pahrump Nugget will host the Southern Nevada USBC Seniors Open Singles championship tournament March 3-4 and 10-11.

Reserved entries close Feb. 26; otherwise, it will be one hour before squad times. Squad times are:

March 3 -- 9 a.m.; 11:30 a.m.; 2 p.m.

March 4 -- 9 a.m.; 11:30 a.m., 2 p.m.

March 10 -- 9 a.m; 11:30 a.m., 2 p.m.

March 11 -- 9 a.m.; 11:30 a.m., 2 p.m.

The minimum age is 55, with handicap 90 percent of 220. The competition is by age divisions -- A-Plus (75 and older); A (70-74); B (65-69), C (60-64) and D (55-59).

The entry fee is $30, with $18.50 going into the prize fund. The payoff ratio is to be one in four.

Nevada USBC tourney at Fallon

The 2007 Nevada State USBC Open Championship Bowling Tournament will be contested March 24-25-31-April 1-14-15-21-22, May 4-5-6-11-12-13 at the Oasis Bowl in Fallon.

Reserved entry closing dates are March 9 for first weekend, March 16 for second weekend, March 30 for third weekend; April 6 for fourth weekend; April 20 for fifth weekend, and April 27 for the final weekend.

All other entries close two hours before squad times. The squad times are listed on the entry blank, available at the Pahrump Nugget.

The team entry fee is $125, which includes $75.25 for the prize fund, $24.75 fees, and $25 expenses.

The cost is $30.10 for doubles, $15.05 for singles, and $8 for all-events. The prize funds are $9.90 for doubles, $4.95 for singles, and none for all-events.

Competition will be in Division I (average 180 and above) and Division II (179 and below). Handicap will be 90 percent of 225.
