The 20 players who will compete for a $10,000 seat in the 2007 World Series of Poker at the Pahrump Nugget have been determined.

The championship event will be played Feb. 24, starting at noon, with each player tentatively scheduled to start with $10,000 in chips. That figure is to be confirmed.

The 2007 WSOP will be held June 1-July 15 at the Rio Hotel-Casino in Las Vegas.

The final no-limit hold'em poker qualifying tournament was contested Saturday, with Todd Bock emerging from the field of 28 to become the winner and move into a tie for sixth place in the final standings.

Frank Kost was fifth and the point he earned moved him into a tie for 11th place.

Ray Hazelwood, the runnerup, earned five points and is tied for 12th place, while fourth-place finisher Jim Robertson added two points to his total of 15, good for fourth.

Louie DeCanio was third; the three points he earned was not enough to vault him into the top 20.

To qualify for the free roll tournaments, men and women had to play at least 40 hours of live poker in the four-table poker room at the Nugget.

The Nugget paid out $23,100 in prize money in the 11 monthly tournaments.

Competition -- in a new format -- has already begun to qualify players for the 2008 World Series of Poker.

The promotion began Jan. 1 and will conclude Dec. 31. Again, $10,000 will be at stake, but instead of one player benefiting, five will. Each will earn $2,000 to enter 2008 WSOP tournaments.

There will be a free-roll tournament on the second Saturday of each month, with the first at noon Feb. 10.

Players must complete at least 40 hours of live play to qualify for one of the monthly free rolls. The chip count will be varied, based on the number of hours played.

Play 40 to 49 3/4 hours and the number of chips is $1,500. For 50 to 59 3/4, the amount is $2,000. For 60 to 69 3/4, it's $2,500, and for 70 hours or more, it's $3,000.

The payoffs each month will be $1,000 and 10 points for first; $500 and five points for second; $300 and three points for third; $200 and two points for fourth, and $100 and one point for fifth.

The top 30 players will compete monthly, and the top 30 will go for the five $2,000 seats in mid-February 2008.
