Woman admits to forgery

Jennifer L. Havins, 28, was arrested and booked on a number of charges involving forgery and burglary Thursday, Dec. 20.

Havins was arrested during the course of an ongoing fraud investigation by the sheriff's office.

According the sheriff's office, during the course of an interview she admitted receiving three blank business checks belonging to the Patio Café, a local restaurant.

She reportedly admitted to endorsing the checks and making them payable to herself prior to cashing the checks at the Pahrump Nugget Casino.

She was taken to the Nye County Detention Center where she was booked on three counts of uttering a forged instrument, conspiracy to commit a crime, and three counts of burglary.

Her bail was set at $40,000.
