BOWL GAME SATURDAY Finish above .500: Nevada's objectiveSPECIAL TO THE PVT
The Nevada football team will play New Mexico Saturday in New Mexico Bowl II, with the Wolf Pack's objective to finish above .500. Kickoff is at 1:30 p.m. PST at Albuquerque. The game will be televised by ESPN. Nevada is 6-6 this season; a victory against New Mexico, 8-4, will assure the Pack of a winning record. Coach Chris Ault's team arrived in Albuquerque Wednesday and will participate in several off-field promotions, as well as get in a couple of workouts. Nevada will open the 2008 season against traditional Black College power Grambling State Aug. 31 in MacKay Stadium. The Wolf Pack will be at home Sept. 6 against Texas Tech; a week later, Nevada will play at Missouri. After a week off, Nevada will play at UNLV Sept. 27. Conference game dates have yet to be established. In 2009, Nevada will travel to South Bend, Ind., to play Notre Dame Sept. 5. Other non-conference games will be against Colorado State (there, Sept. 19), Missouri (home, Sept. 26) and UNLV (home, Oct. 10). Oregon is on the Nevada schedule in 2011 (there) and 2013 (home). |
