NORTHBROOK, Ill. -- Utilities Inc., a national water and wastewater service corporation, and its subsidiary Utilities Inc. of Central Nevada, have completed Phase I of water main replacements in Pahrump.

This first phase of the $1.7 million replacement project began earlier this year and increased the diameter of the water mains to between eight and 12 inches.

Customers will experience several benefits from these changes, including increased system pressure during peak periods, improved water quality, and increased volume.

Phase II of the project has begun, and all replacements and upgrades are expected to be completed by the end of this year.

These upgrades are located throughout the Pahrump Valley and are consistent with Utilities' commitment to providing quality service to the communities it serves.

Phase1 includes the following improvements:

4,227 linear feet, lines were replaced on Country Place Road between Highway 160 and Genoa Avenue.

1,366 linear feet -- new line was installed on Winery Road from Cortina to Kaibib streets.

Phase 2 will involve the following efforts:

2,400 linear feet, Blagg Road from Calvada Boulevard to Gardena Street.

1,400 linear feet, Dandelion Street from Casino Street to Highland.

1,500 linear feet, Pahrump Valley Boulevard between Mount Charleston Drive and Jaybird Avenue.
