LAS VEGAS -- Trevor Brazile set an all-around earnings record Monday with a first-place showing in team roping during the fifth round of the National Finals Rodeo.

Header Brazile, of Decatur, Texas, and heeler Patrick Smith of Midland, Texas, earned the top spot for the second straight round with a time of 4.6 seconds. They tied for first Sunday night at 4.0 seconds.

Brazile, in fourth place for headers, increased his first-place total in all-around (four events) this year to $342,263, which is $171,665 ahead of runner-up Josh Peek of Pueblo, Colo. He broke his own record of $329,924, set in 2006.

Colter Todd of Marana, Ariz., and Cesar de la Cruz of Tucson, Ariz., placed second for the second consecutive round with a 4.7.

In steer wrestling, Lee Graves' second consecutive win propelled him into the PRCA world standings lead. The 36-year-old Graves, of Alberta, Canada, made it back-to-back wins with a time of 3.4 and is on top with $128,124.

Previous world leader Shawn Greenfield of Lakeview, Ore., didn't place and is second in the world standings with $122,169.

``You've got to have a game plan,'' Graves said. ``The start is so fast here; the guy that wins the most money is the guy who gets the best starts, so it is really important that we are on the same page as our hazers.''

In bareback riding, three-time world champion Will Lowe of Canyon, Texas, won his first round of the 2007 NFR with an 89.5-point ride on Pinball Wizard.

``I was riding well and had been drawing good horses and making solid rides, so I figured it would all fall into place before too long,'' Lowe said. ``And if it didn't, then that's the way it goes. You can't expect to win everything or to place every time when you've got those guys sitting in the locker room that are all in the top 15.''

Finishing second with an 89 on Wonderland was Justin McDaniel of Porum, Okla., who is second in the world standings with $135,552. Bobby Mote of Culver, Ore., who didn't place in the fifth round, is the leader with $168,577.

In saddle bronc riding, NFR rookie Taos Muncy of Corona, N.M., earned his first-ever win with an 83-point ride on No Ballou. The 20-year-old Muncy won the 2007 College National Finals saddle bronc riding title.

Despite a fourth-place showing with an 80 on Hazerdous Moon, Cody DeMoss of Heflin, La., was unable to regain the world standings lead from leader Cody Wright of Milford, Utah, who was one of 10 riders who had unsuccessful rides. Wright has $142,937 compared to $141,224 for DeMoss.

In tie-down roping, Blair Burk of Durant, Okla., placed first in 7.2 seconds. Brazile is the event's world standings leader with $143,645 compared to runner-up Hunter Herrin of Apache, Okla., with $136,362.

In barrel racing, Lindsay Sears of Alberta, Canada, placed first in 13.93 seconds. Leader Brittany Pozzi-Pharr of Victoria, Texas, didn't place during the fifth round but has $190,698 to lead Sears by $33,211.

In bull riding, Clint Craig of Mena, Ark., placed first with an 89.5-point ride on South Point.
