Obituaries
Grace M. Lund Grace M. Lund, of Pahrump, formerly of Cadillac, Mich., died Dec. 7, 2007 at age 86. Mrs. Lund moved to Pahrump from Hernando Beach, Fla. following the death of her beloved husband, Arnold, in 2002. Mrs. Lund was the personnel and production manager for Manton Industries prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in Pahrump and a past member of the Elks and Moose in Cadillac, Mich. and Spring Hill, Mich. Her daughter Carol (Denny) Weaver of Pahrump; granddaughter Mardell of Pahrump; great-granddaughter Keilei Seirah Brehm of Tokyo, Japan and loving siblings Nellie Wogast of Traverse City, Mich., Ella Randall of Jackson, Mich and Carl (Bernice) Collier of Emporia, Kan., survive her. A memorial service was held at 10:30 a.m., Dec. 12, at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church. (12/07/07) ![]() Florian "Andy" Andre Florian "Andy" Andre, 74, of Pahrump, went to be with the Lord Dec. 7, 2007. He was born Nov. 6, 1933 in East Chicago, Ind. to Loreda and Frank Andre. At age 22, he married Darlene Gualandi, his wife of 52 years before family and friends. A 20-year veteran of the Air Force, Andy retired with the rank of Tech Sergeant. He participated in the Korean and Vietnam Wars, where he received the Air Force commendation award for Meritorius Service. After retirement, he was working at the Chrysler Corporation for 18 more years doing various jobs in Kokomo, Ind. Andy and Darlene moved to Nevada after they both retired. They have lived in Pahrump for the last 14 years. Andy had a genuine love of people. His good-hearted nature made him well liked by all who came in contact with him. He carried his sense of humor until the last hour of his life. He found great joy working for the Lord, tinkering with cars and traveling to new lands in search of old missions. He loved finding new fishing places. One of his fondest memories was this past summer when he caught the "big" one in his favorite fishing hole at his summer home in Jellystone Park, Pierceton, Ind. He was an active parishioner of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church. He was a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus, councio 10780 and fourth degree member of Rt. Rev. Monsenior John. J. Lame Assembly in Las Vegas. For the last two years, he was a member of the rosary guild. In that time, he and the group made over 30,000 rosaries that have been distributed throughout the world. His wife Darlene; son Gino of Kokomo, Ind; daughters Mary Catherine Franks of Las Vegas, Rosemary (James) Reed of Grand Prairie, Texas and Caren Gualandi of Plano, Texas; grandchildren Jimmy, Michael, Andrea, Corey and Christy; great-granddaughter Hayle; brother Nicholas (Phyllis) Andre of Dyer, Ind.; sister Nance (William) Wozniak of Sarasota, Fla., and several nieces, nephews and cousins survive him. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation was 5-9 p.m., Dec. 11 at the the Lee Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass was held at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church followed by a graveside ceremony at 1:20 p.m. at the Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd, Boulder City. In lieu of flowers, the family asks contributions be made to Fatima Crusader, 17000 State Route 30, Constale, N.Y. 12926. (12/07/07) ![]() Thomas R. Sobecki Thomas R. Sobecki, 74, passed away Dec. 7, 2007. He was born April 16, 1933, in Indiana and was a resident of Pahrump for 15 years, having come from Las Vegas. He was a house painter and enjoyed his occupation, and his cats, chickens, roosters and goldfish. His loving wife Lynda; daughters Julie and Theresa, both of Wisconsin; brothers Jerry Sobecki of North Carolina and Danny Sobecki of Wisconsin; sister Elaine Rodecki of Wisconsin and four grandchildren survive him. No services are planned in Pahrump. Arrangements were handled by Eric Lee, Lee Funeral Home and Cremation Services. (12/07/07) ![]() Russell Neally Caron Russell Neally Caron, 38, passed away suddenly Nov. 21, 2007. He was born June 16, 1969 and had been a resident of Pahrump since 1985. A man of Christian faith, he enjoyed country music, karaoke, football, bull riding in his younger years, and spending time with his family. His wife of nine years, Tabitha; six children Donald, Sylvanniah, Adam, Heather, Davis and Trace; mother Carol Carroll of Amargosa; aunt Sue (Bob) of Albring, Calif.; sister Sylvia Quadros of Michigan; brother Clifton Pappas of Reno; cousins Bob (Tracy and Jackee of Albring, Calif.; best friends Tim Keating and John Patton of Pahrump and numerous nieces and nephews survive him. He was preceded in death by his adored grandparents who raised him, Jack and Slyvia Clarke; younger brother Donald Caron; uncle Richard Clarke King and grandparents Herbert and Rita Caron. (11/21/07) Florence M. Overholser Florence M. Overholser, 76, passed away Dec. 8, 2007 in Fallon. She was born April 6, 1931 in Saginaw, Mich. to John and Pauline Novak and she lived in Silverpeak for several years. She was a homemaker. Her sons Jerry and David Mueller both of Gabbs and Dale Mueller of Sun Valley; daughter Donna (Rick) Rendon of Las Vegas; sister Pauline Wahl of Saginaw, Mich.; brother Jack Novak of Saginaw, Mich., and grandchildren Alicia and Kyle Rendon survive her. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Dec. 15 in the chapel at Roselawn Memorial Park in Saginaw, Mich., with interment to follow.
