Beatty Chamber is awarded two grantsPVT
LAS VEGAS -- Local organizations were awarded grants for tourist promotion, during the annual governor's tourism awards here this week. The Beatty Chamber of Commerce was awarded $5,675 to advertise in the Las Vegas Review-Journal publication Cerca. The advertisements will promote area wildflowers, Beatty Days, the Beatty Fourth of July celebration and back country trails, NCOT media Relations Manager Chris Chrystal said. The Beatty chamber also picked up $7,013 to advertise in three issues of Nevada magazine. The Nevada Commission on Tourism awarded officials working in Pioneer Territory, the designation for the part of the state including Pahrump and Beatty, $12,000 for a public relations campaign on a local and regional basis, Chrystal said. Officials with Pioneer Territory will also receive $2,000 to redesign their Web site "The Solitudes" to coincide with a current marketing campaign," she said. The Pahrump Chamber of Commerce secured an $850 grant to place advertisements in Motorcycles On The Road Again, Chrystal said. The governor's tourism conference is addressing topics like Las Vegas infrastructure, the "Reno renaissance," and attempts to market the state internationally. Singer Celine Dion was honored Thursday night. |
