Eve-N-Keel hosts New Year's Eve Pub Crawl

In most cases, it's safer when attending a New Year's Eve party to stay where you are after getting there, particularly if you're getting a head start on the champagne.

For others, however, one party just isn't going to cut it.

But assuming you're smart enough not to drink and drive, short of convincing a friend to be a designated driver (thus having them miss out on the bubbly), Pahrump lacks public transportation which means there aren't many other options available.

Until now.

For the first time, locals will have the chance to participate in a genuine New Year's Eve Pub Crawl, which is exactly what it sounds like: you hit every bar in town until it's time to crawl home.

The Crawl will be hosted by the Eve-N-Keel bar, located on Calvada Boulevard at Pahrump Valley Boulevard (across the parking lot from Paddy's Pub).

Thinking of safety first, the bar has secured a charter bus to ensure all the partying public can raucously ring in the New Year, hit almost every event in town, and still remain safe.

The fun starts at 3 p.m. on New Year's Eve at "the Keel." Food will be served for an hour, and at 4 p.m., it will be time to hit the road.

From then until 11 p.m., bars all around town will be visited, for about an hour each.

At 11 p.m. it'll be back to the Eve-N-Keel to get ready to ring in 2008 with party favors, a toast, and all the traditional trimmings.

The bus isn't free, and the cost to participate is $30 per person or $50 per couple.

You can swing by the Keel to pay, but all money must be in by Dec. 20 to secure the bus.
