Christmas trees are for sale as PVHS projectPVT Despite an attempt to stop the project, Christmas trees are on sale by the Pahrump Valley High School athletics department as one of three major fund-raisers. An ordinance enforcement told people selling the trees last weekend that they were in violation of a town ordinance because they did not have a permit. It turns out that Pahrump Valley High School is considered a government entity and does not require a permit for such a project. The athletics department can be called to arrange for a sale of trees at the high school. This Saturday and Sunday, the trees will be on sale at Wulfy's (Highway 160 at the Best Western Hotel). Pre-order or pre-pay, prices range from $30 to $50. All profits go to the athletic department for much needed equipment and supplies. If you do not wish to have a cut tree, you can still purchase one and donate it to a deserving family. The athletics department is working with the Division of Child and Family Services to find homes for these trees. Contact PVHS Athletics at 727-7908 or sallison@nye.k12.nv.us for an order form. The trees are now available." |
