MARK WAITE / PVT Vendors braved the cold Saturday to sell their wares during the winter farmers market at the parking lot in front of Petrack Park. The farmers market is sponsored by the University of Nevada, Reno Cooperative Extension Service. The temperature was only 38 degrees at 8 a.m. Saturday, but rose up to a high of 49 degrees. The Desert Research Institute monitoring station in Pahrump recorded .23 inch of precipitation, which left the Spring Mountains with a nice coat of white snow. The farmers market will be held again Saturday, just in time for some more Christmas shopping.
