Being noisy leads to arrests
By CHRISTINA EICHELKRAUT
Lenette Lopez, 25, and Thomas Rodriguez, 36, were both arrested and booked on a variety of drug charges Thanksgiving Day. Sheriff's office Dep. Becht was dispatched to a residence on Money Street that day at approximately 1:30 a.m. in response to a noise complaint. The deputy learned that the suspect was Rodriguez, who had an active parole and probation warrant for his arrest. Dep. Chandler and the Street Crime Unit arrived to assist. Chandler made contact with Rodriguez and was informed that Lopez was also at the residence, with whom he also made contact. The deputies were told by Parole and Probation Officer Wehrly that both suspects were to have their residence and property searched, provide a urine sample and be arrested for parole violations. Deps. Dillon and Chandler searched the property and the suspects' belongings. In Lopez's belongings, a small, zip-lock bag of a white, crystal-like substance that tested presumptively positive for methamphetamine was found. The officers also found multiple items of drug paraphernalia used for the ingestion of narcotics. Lopez and Rodriguez were transported to the Nye County Detention Center, where Lopez tested presumptively positive for methamphetamine, marijuana, and benzodiazepine. Rodriguez's urine sample tested presumptively positive for methamphetamine. Lopez was booked on charges of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), and conspiracy to violate the Uniform Controlled Substance Act. She is being held on $30,000 bail. Rodriguez was booked on conspiracy to violate the Uniform Controlled Substance Act and three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. He is being held on $16,896 bail. |
