Reno McQueen, Overton Moapa Valley, Yerington Rite of Passage, and Pahranagat Valley Alamo are the leaders in the first week of the Pahrump Valley Times Nevada High School football ratings.

McQueen tops Class 4-A, thanks to its 5-0 conquest of Reno in a defensive battle last Friday.

Moapa Valley cruised past Dayton 31-12 in a matchup of two of Nevada's best Class 3-A teams.

Defending state champion Rite of Passage overpowered Incline 39-15 in its opener and grabbed the 2-A lead.

Alamo ran its undefeated streak to 25 games with a 26-20 win against Wells in an early 1-A showdown.

There are some key matchups this week that should shake up the early ratings.

That list is led by the 3-A battle between Faith Lutheran and Spring Creek, on the latter's field tonight. Both are 1-0, with Faith Lutheran coming off a 33-24 win against Campbell Hall, Calif., and Spring Creek fired up after its 39-6 conquest of 4-A and county rival Elko.

In Class A, No. 2 Tonopah visits No. 3 Mountain View Christian in Las Vegas Saturday afternoon, and in 4-A, Douglas is at No. 4 Reno Bishop Manogue.
