Rust appointed liaison to incorporation board
By CHRISTINA EICHELKRAUT
The process of incorporating Pahrump into a city took another step forward with the appointment of Don Rust as the town board's liaison to the recently-formed Incorporation Advisory Board. The town board passed a motion at a special meeting last April to attempt to incorporate Pahrump within the next three years. Rust has consistently been a proponent of incorporation and was appointed by Chairman Laurayne Murray after he volunteered for the position. In the months since the board decided to try incorporation for the fourth time in the town's history, an incorporation advisory board, made up of seven members and two alternates, has been formed. The advisory board members were selected because they were the only nine people who submitted complete applications. In addition, the advisory board's first scheduled meeting was announced for Monday, Sept. 10, at 7 p.m. in the town annex. |
