RUSH, SHARKS, TROJANS IN ACTION Pop Warner football begins SaturdayPVT
Pop Warner football in Pahrump now has three teams. The Rush, Trojans and Sharks will play their openers Saturday in Las Vegas, according to Joe Clayton, who has been involved with the Pop Warner program since it arrived in Pahrump in 2005. Saturday at Canyon Springs High School in north central Las Vegas, the Rush will play the Redskins at noon, and at 2 p.m., it will be the Trojans against the Buccaneers. At Las Vegas High School in center city East, the Sharks will take on the Cowboys at noon. The teams will play four games each at Pahrump Valley High School, starting Sept. 8. On that day, it's the Sharks vs. Chargers, 10 a.m.; Rush vs. Havoc, noon, and Trojans vs. Steelers, 2 p.m. On Sept. 29, the tripleheader at PVHS starts at 10 a.m., with the Sharks facing the Warriors, the Rush playing the T-Birds, and the Trojans meeting the Green Machine. On Oct. 13, the tripleheader includes Sharks-Colts, 10 a.m.; Rush-Panthers, noon, and Trojans-Buccaneers, 2 p.m. On Oct. 27, it will be Sharks-Cowboys, 10 a.m.; Rush-Tigers, noon, and Trojans-Tigers, 2 p.m. Other games will be played Sept. 22 at Canyon Springs: Rush vs. Vikings, 10 a.m.; Trojans vs. Tigers, noon, and at Las Vegas High, Sharks vs. Giants, noon. On Oct. 6 at Canyon Springs, it will be Rush vs. Bulls, 10 a.m., and Trojans vs. Rams, noon. At Las Vegas High at noon, the Sharks will play the Las Vegas Trojans. Canyon Springs will host games at 10 a.m. (Rush, Rebels) and noon (Trojans, Steelers) on Oct. 20. The Sharks will be idle. The Pop Warner playoffs begin Nov. 3, with pairings and sites to be determined. |
