Pahrump Senior Center menu (menu subject to change) and activities for the week of Aug. 24 to Aug. 31:

Menu -- soup and salad bar, 2 percent milk and juice available daily:

Friday -- baked ziti with italian sausage, garlic bread, banana cream pie.

Monday -- mexican meatballs, rice, seasoned zuchinni.

Tuesday-- shepard's pie, green beans, pudding.

Wednesday -- pork loin, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, cake.

Thursday -- chicken pot pie, mixed veggies, ice cream.

Friday -- bbq pork sandwiches, green beans, fruit cup.

Activities:

Monday -- exercise class, 10:30 a.m.; poker, noon, hair-cuts 9 to 11 a.m.

Tuesday -- bridge class, 1 p.m.; craft class, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.; exercise class 10:30 a.m..

Wednesday -- cloggers, 9 a.m.; drawing class 1 p.m.; RSVP, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Kindergarten pre-assessment

Kindergarten students will be pre-assesed starting Tuesday Aug. 21, through Thursday Aug. 23. Assessment times will be assigned during registration. An orientation will take place at 9 a.m., Friday Aug. 24, in the multi-purpose room.

Kindergarten begins Monday, Aug. 27.

PVHS open house

Pahrump Valley High School will hold an open house from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m., Aug. 28.

The opening session will be held in the main building gymnasium.

VFW Post 10054 August calendar

Breakfast served every Sunday, 8 am to 11 am.

Dinners:

Aug. 24 - Homeland Heroes, pork roast with trimmings

Aug. 31 - American Legion, beef lasagna

All dinners are served from 5 to 7 p.m. unless listed differently. All dinners are $6 unless stated.
