The second annual Maroon and Gold Intrasquad Football game will be played Saturday, starting at 9 a.m. on the Pahrump Valley High School field.

Coach Brian Hug and his staff will direct the three-hour intrasquad scrimmage, as the Trojans continue preparations for their season opener Aug. 24 at Phoenix, Ariz., Christian.

The Trojans won't be on their own field for an actual game until Sept. 14, when they play Northern Nevada Class 3-A League power Spring Creek.

Before then, Pahrump Valley is at San Diego, Calif., Torrey Pines Aug. 31 and at Chino, Calif., Don Lugo Sept. 7. The Trojans go to Yucca Valley, Calif., Sept. 21, have an open date Sept. 28, and host the first PVHS Hall of Fame Game Oct. 5.

Defending state 3-A champion Mesquite Virgin Valley will be the opponent for the first Southern League game of the season. The first HOF class will include 16 people; watch for the announcement on who those inductees will be.

Remaining football games will be Oct. 12, at home vs. Las Vegas Faith Lutheran; Oct. 19, at Overton Moapa Valley, and Oct. 25, at Boulder City.
