Seemore's Too open on 160
BY MARY BALDASANO
Four years ago Robert and Cherie Burgess purchased the Seemore's ice cream stand on Highway 372. The stand has been very profitable for them and has allowed them to grow to the point where they have now opened a second Seemore's -- a really sweet deal. The new one, called Seemore's Too, officially opened in mid-June and is located at 921 S. Highway 160, near Radio Shack. The business has grown from offering just ice cream and hot dogs to a hamburger stand presenting coffee, chicken wings, nachos, salads, multiple sandwiches, wraps, and even a child's menu. Cherie said, "We even have a semi-private party room that is offered free to any group as long as they buy from our menu. We also offer ice cream cakes and birthday packages." The new facility offers 4,000 square feet in which customers can sit and enjoy their food. "While I have had to raise prices due to increased costs," Robert said, "they are still below others in town." Prices range from $1 to $6.50. With a large kitchen area, specialty sandwiches such as a Hoffman's Hot Dog, a grilled snappy, white spicy hot dog, Philly steak, and more are available. The Burgesses came to Pahrump in 2004 to start a business, and given Robert's experience working at an ice cream stand in his youth, they felt Seemore's was perfect. Cherie is a teacher at Mt. Charleston Elementary and will help out during business hours while school is out, then in the afternoons and on weekends. Seemore's Too will host live Christian bands every other month to entertain customers, and the business will continue the tradition of supporting and sponsoring local sports activities such as Pop Warner football, Little League baseball, and school sports. To contact Seemore's Too, call 775-727-4567. Check it out. And don't worry -- the original Seemore's will still be around. |
