BLM sets land salePVT
A single parcel of public land in southern Nye County will be offered for sale by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Wednesday, Aug. 22. The public auction will begin at 10 a.m. at the Beatty Community Center, at 100 "A" Ave. South, in Beatty. The 39.73-acre parcel northwest of Beatty is being offered at the appraised fair market value of $220,000. Prospective bidders may bid on the parcel either through public auction or sealed bid. Bidders may register at the Community Center Aug. 22, between 8 and 10 a.m. Details may be acquired through Wendy Seley at BLM's field station in Tonopah, 775-482-7800. All sealed bids must be received by 4:30 p.m. Aug. 21. The highest qualifying bidder, if an oral bidder, must submit 20 percent of the successful bid by 2 p.m., Aug. 22, at the Beatty Community Center. The remainder of the full bid price is due within 180 calendar days from the day of sale. The parcel was identified for disposal in the Tonopah Resource Management Plan, approved in 1997. Proceeds from the sale will be deposited into the Federal Land Disposal Account for Nevada. Four percent of the proceeds are provided to the state.
