BEATTY -- The Beatty High School eight-man football team, again coached by Gus Sullivan, will open its season Aug. 24 at home against Southern Division Class A Laughlin. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.

Coach Mike Duszynski's volleyball team will be at home Aug. 24 against Laughlin, starting at 3 p.m.

Football practice starts Thursday, with volleyball workouts beginning Aug. 13.

The Hornets will be in the Nevada Central Division, along with Tonopah, Indian Springs, Round Mountain, Henderson International School and Spring Mountain in football. Lund is in volleyball only.
