Althea Patton

Althea "Sam" Patton, 73, passed away July 24, 2007, in Pahrump.

She was born Oct. 7, 1933, in Pharr, Texas. She was a five-year resident of Pahrump, coming from Kansas. She worked as an insurance underwriter and was of the Methodist faith.

She was involved in the Women's Business Association in her earlier years. "Sam" had many friends in her retirement community who will miss her dearly.

Her daughters Mary (Eldon) Jones of Oklahoma, Cathy (Donnie) Koogler of Missouri, Cindy (Mark) Carey of Florida, and Barbara Patton of Missouri; son John (Lisa) Patton of Las Vegas; and 16 grandchildren survive her.

A memorial service was held July 29 with interment at Chief Tecopa Cemetery. Lee Funeral Home handled the arrangements. (07/24/07)

Diane Smith

A memorial service for Diane Smith, 53, who passed away July 27, 2007, will be held at 3:30 p.m., Aug. 2, at Lee Funeral Home chapel.

She was born Jan. 25, 1954, in Michigan. She was a six-year resident of Pahrump, coming from Boulder City, and worked as a dealer in the casino industry. She was of the Catholic faith.

Diane was involved in the support of Vietnam veteran wives. She had many friends in Pahrump who will miss her dearly.

Her son Jeremy Smith of Illinois; daughter Melissa England of Illinois; sister Gayla Andrews of Pahrump; niece Nina Hamilton of Pahrump; great-niece Arianna of Pahrump; and two grandchildren survive her.

Her mother, father and a brother preceded her in death.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice in Pahrump. Lee Funeral Home handled the arrangements. (07/27/07)

Nathan Kelsay III

Nathan Braxton Kelsay III was born June 10, 1940, in Columbia, Ky. He departed this earth July 21, 2007.

Nathan joined the U.S. Navy at age 17 and retired as chief petty officer in 1976. He then moved to Las Vegas, where his sons met up with him in 1981. He was a real estate broker, world traveler and belonged to many organizations.

Nathan was a proud husband, father and grandfather.

His wife Barbara Allen Kelsay, her son Jason (Jodi) Allen, and her daughter Carey (Jason) Greiner; his sons Major Kenneth (Emily) Kelsay, Kevin (Diana) Kelsay, and Kerry (Tammie) Kelsay; grandchildren Alexis Hoff, Daniel (Jessica) Kelsay, William Hoff, Erica Hoff, William Jones, Krystal Hoff, Kaydee Kelsay, Kendra Kelsay, Joshua Kelsay and baby Carson Allen survive him.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Aug. 1, at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City. Donations may be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice in his honor.

Nathan was a great man and will be missed and remembered dearly by all of those whose lives he touched. May he rest in peace. (07/21/07)
