Wade Norman's goal with 15:36 left was enough to lift visiting Las Vegas Faith Lutheran to a 1-0 victory against Pahrump Valley, in Southern Nevada Class 3-A League boys' soccer Tuesday.

The Crusaders got shutout goaltending from Mark Davies, who like Norman, is a freshman. Faith Lutheran is 4-0 (12 points) in the league, while the Trojans fell to 2-1-1 (seven points). Pahrump Valley played at home against The Meadows Thursday without coach Gene Smith, who received a red card late in the second half. The Pahrump Valley bench erupted in protest when an offsides was called against the Trojans and Smith was singled out by the official for the infraction.

In the girls game played at Las Vegas, the teams battled to a 2-2 tie, with Courtney Nelson and Emily Poertner scoring the PVHS goals. Pahrump Valley is 1-1-1 (4 points) in the league, with Faith Lutheran at 2-0-1 (7 points).

The Lady Trojans were idle Thursday, since The Meadows has canceled its girls season. Pahrump Valley returns to league competition Tuesday at Mesquite Virgin Valley.

In Junior Varsity games, Pahrump Valley's boys won 8-0, but the girls lost, 3-0.
