Pahrump Postmaster Bob Philpot hands off the mail to Michelle Phillips during the sixth annual Pony Express Ride on Homestead Road Saturday morning. Fifty-eight participants enjoyed ideal weather conditions for the 16-mile ride around the west end of Pahrump Valley. Letters could be mailed for $5, the same cost as a letter sent via the original Pony Express in 1860-61.
