Nye County Sheriff's Office is taking a stand of zero tolerance on non-compliant sex offenders.

During the past several weeks, the Sheriff's Street Crime Unit has been conducting physical verifications of registered sex offenders' addresses. This is to assure that the offender has not moved and is still in compliance with state law.

Sept. 20, while conducting the verification on a John R. Stark (42, of Pahrump), this offender was found to not be in compliance with state law and was arrested for failure to complete his annual verification.

He was booked on that charge and is being held on $5,000 bail.

The next day, Kenneth L. Rudd (43, also of Pahrump) was arrested for failure to change his address during a physical verification of the address. Rudd had moved without changing his address in accordance with Nevada Revised Statutes.

During the past three weeks, 22 felony cases have been forwarded to the Nye County District Attorney's Office for non-compliant sex offenders. These cases are for all tier level offenders.

This is in accordance with the zero tolerance stand being taken against non-compliant sex offenders.

As previously reported, Sheriff Anthony L. DeMeo said to all sex offenders, "Get compliant or get arrested."
