Byrnes, S.C., earned a 21-20 victory against Cincinnati Moeller; Lakeland, Fla. edged Cincinnati St. Xavier 25-22 in overtime; Don Bosco Prep of Ramsey, N.J., stunned Centerville 21-0, and Concord, Calif., De La Salle outslugged Cincinnati Elder 56-38, in the Kirk Herbstreit-designed Ohio vs. The USA High School football challenge last weekend.

More than 35,000 fans watched the four games, contested in Nippert Stadium on the University of Cincinnati campus.

In other games, Massillon (Ohio) Washington defeated Hamilton, Ariz., 35-26, as 10,000 fans watched Massillon's Tigers -- a traditional football power since the 1930s when the legendary Paul Brown was its coach -- triumph.

Earlier, Colerain of Cincinnati defeated Springfield (Pa.) Cardinal O'Hara 28-0; Cleveland St. Edward routed Springdale, Ark., 49-3, and Hilliard Davidson edged Philadelphia St. Joseph's Prep 17-14.

Herbstreit, an ESPN College GameDay host, is a Centerville High and Ohio State University alum.
