Red Hat meeting The next get-together for the Bodacious Mad Hatters Chapter of the Red Hat Society will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Elks Lodge. The coronation of Queen Annetta Maletich will be held. PVHS students nominated for Heisman award Pahrump Valley High School's Jeff Holley and Dominique Maloy have been nominated for the prestigious Wendy's High School Heisman Award. The program, awarded in conjunction with the collegiate Heisman, celebrates the achievements of the nation's top high school seniors in and out of the classroom. These students were nominated for their academic aptitude, athletic talent and exceptional commitment to their school and community. CMA seeks event volunteers The Nevada Country Music Association would like to invite all country music fans to come and have fun at the association's booth this weekend. Hospice Seminar Options Series Nathan Adelson Hospice's September forum will focus on how doctors and chaplains work together to provide optimal care for patients and their families in general and in a hospice setting during the Hospice's monthly Seminar Options Series on Channel 30 from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Channel 30/62 Studio, located at 250 Nopah Vista. Dr. Stewart Stein, director of medical affairs for the hospice; and Reverend Julie Platson and Pastor Paul Jordan, chaplains for the hospice, will make up the panel. Swapmeet, car show at speedway The Model A Club and The Unclub Boys will present the Pahrump Swapmeet and Car Show from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Pahrump Valley Speedway. PVHS seeks nurse's office volunteer Pahrump Valley High School needs a volunteer as soon as possible to help in the nurse's office. The nurse's office needs a volunteer certified in cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillator (AED) trained.
