The Beatty High School volleyball team fell to 6-7 this season, with a three-set loss at Lone Pine, Calif., Friday.

Lone Pine prevailed 25-9, 25-20, 25-17 against the Hornets, coached by Mike Duszynski, who takes his team to Big Pine, Calif., Saturday. The match begins at 10 a.m.

"Lone Pine was good, but I didn't think they were that good," said the coach. "They were taller across the front line than we were."

Big Pine, on the other hand, has a long-term quality program, said Duszynski. "They are always tough."

Against Lone Pine, the Hornets' leaders were Karli Rust and Heather Dunsterville with their floor play, "especially in the second and third games," said Duszynski.

The Hornets, who have been on the road for all of their matches this season, finally play at home Sept. 28 against Henderson Warren-Walker in a best-of-three doubleheader.
