Pahrump Valley High School's cross country team will host Class 4-A Las Vegas squads Sierra Vista and Durango today on a 2.5-mile course set up on the Lakeview Executive golf course.

The boys race at 5:30 p.m., while the girls compete at 6.

Last Saturday, in the Sierra Vista Invitational, the PV boys were second in the small-school division, as David Jacobi paced them by finishing the 2.5-mile event in 16 minutes, 20 seconds for a ninth-place finish.

Daniel Spradlin (17:16), Gabe Veloz (17:36), Josh Armendariz (17:56), Scott Moser (20:17) and Noah Poulos (23:56) also ran for Pahrump Valley.

In the girls race, McKenzie Dean of Pahrump Valley was first in the small-school division with a time of 16:52; the Trojans' sophomore was fifth overall.

Nicole Dillon finished in 23:32 and Tiffany Kelley was timed in 23:46 for the Pahrump Valley girls, who are still in need of more runners. Richard Andersen is the girls' coach; interested girls should contact him at the high school, or see Sherry Allison at the athletics department office.
