The Pahrump Valley Times was honored last weekend with four awards at the annual Nevada Press Association convention at the South Coast Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
Photographer Horace Langford Jr. earned two first places for his work with a camera. Heather Adams, lead graphic artist, won a second-place award for best spot-color ad. The paper as a whole, under editor Doug McMurdo, came up with a third-place award for general excellence.
Langford's photos were titled, "Chain of events leaves two dead," about a tragic accident, and "Steve Cordova bronco riding."
Of Adams' ad the judges said, "Good layout. Gradient screen on color is very effective."
