Pop Warner games Saturday

The Pahrump Pop Warner football teams play at the Pahrump Valley High School field, with games at 10 a.m. and noon.

The Sharks and Rush will play teams from Las Vegas in the doubleheader.

Other home games will be played Sept. 30, Oct. 14 and Oct. 28 against Vegas opponents.

The Rush are in the Junior PeeWees Division and are coached by Joe Clayton. The Sharks are coached by Thomas Walker and are in the Mighty Mites Division.

Results of last week's games were not reported.

One-pitch Saturday

The women's All-Night One-Pitch slow-pitch softball tournament will be played Saturday at Petrack Park, starting at 9:30 p.m.

How many teams are entered was not reported.

*In other softball news, winners in Men's League games played recently were Sliders and Saitta-Trudeau. Women's winners were the Brewsers and Construction Crew, Garden Oasis and H&M. The Brew Crew and Sliders were Co-Ed League winners.

Dean scores at Boulder City

McKenzie Dean, a sophomore on the Pahrump Valley High School cross country team, won a race at Boulder City Tuesday, touring the 3.1-mile course in 20 minutes, 17 seconds.

Nicole Dillon was 42nd in 24.52 and Tiffany Kelley was 43rd in 31.57.

For the boys, David Jacobi was seventh in 19:03. Also competing were Gabe Veloz, Josh Armendariz, Noal Poulos, Daniel Spradlin and Dylan Dance. Their combined team score was 169 points.
