The Fall Festival is going to be a busy time for the Southern Nye County 4-H Club, which will host a number of events, including two shows and an auction.

The fun begins at 7 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, when the Youth Poultry Show will be held. Judging for this event will be at 9 a.m.

Later the same day, at 1 p.m., is the Open Youth Goat Show.

Gary Whitehead will judge animals on care, presentation, and conformation. Individuals will be judged on their personal presentation, their knowledge of the animal, and care of the animal.

Entry forms for the contest can be found in the Pahrump Fall Festival Guide or by calling the Cooperative Extension Office at 727-5532.

Entries for both the Youth Poultry Show and the Open Youth Goat Show are due by Sept. 15.

Also on Saturday will be the 4-H and FFA Livestock Show and Auction, which will feature sheep and goats.

The animals will be judged on their marketability and classified by weight. There will also be a showmanship division during which 4-H members will compete and be ranked according to their care and knowledge of the animal.

The auction will be held at 3 p.m., and purchases will be cut and wrapped per the buyer's instructions.
